A group of 20+ interested citizens toured The Randolph Group's Verdmont community in Simpsonville to learn more about smart growth efforts in the Upstate.  The group, sponsored by Upstate Forever, included elected officials, engineers, and homeowners.  Jeff Randolph provided the group insight as to successes, disappointments, and frustrations regarding the implementation of low-impact development techniques at Verdmont, a 202 lot community.

 

The Randolph Group has been recognized as a leader in the promotion and implementation of sensible development techniques.  These techniques include the use of impervious surfaces for parking, narrower streets to minimize storm run-off, the availability of significant open space and the clustering of housing.
